As part of the series of pre-conference workshops, we are excited to advise Richard Duffy will be able to present a cybersecurity workshop at the ASUG Best Practices: SAP for Midmarket Customer Conference.
In this workshop, he is planning to share the best practices he has learned from working in IT for 35 years. In particular, it will be based on the last 10 years of building, supporting and managing a state-of-the-art cloud hosting platform for SAP Business One and running a Managed Services business supporting many SME customers called SMB Solutions Cloud Services.
“The session will be based on the presenters experience as an IT/Cloud/ERP professional and will leverage the personal experience gained from building a world class secured cloud environment with years of operation without a single security incident or data breach.”
We have put together a brief overview of the workshop for you here:
Overview
At a lot of conferences, you’ll get the opportunity to hear the equivalent of campfire ghost stories designed to scare you on the topic of cybersecurity to encourage you to act towards securing your organization.
In this workshop, we’ll focus on the practical things you should be doing to protect your organization, your people, your IT assets and customer data from the ever-present threat of cyber attack.
Using the 3 R’s of Readiness, Response and Recovery, you’ll get concrete guidance on what you need to have in place to protect your organization, how you should respond to scenarios where a breach occurs or is suspected, and what you need to have in place to ensure a quick recovery in the situation where you are victims of a cyber attack.
Whilst the session is solution agnostic, we’ll also cover some specifics you should be aware of when it comes to securing your SAP Business One environment on SQL or HANA, on-premises or in the cloud.
We’ll cover:
- Best Practice Guidelines
- Components of an 8 Layer Readiness Approach
- Managing a breach situation and meeting your obligations
- Best practices to ensure a rapid recovery with minimal financial impact
The session will be based on the presenter’s experience as an IT/Cloud/ERP professional and will leverage the personal experience gained from building a world-class secured cloud environment with many years of operation without a single security incident or data breach.
