Today in this SAP Business One 15 Minute Fundamentals Series, we are going to be discussing General Ledger Transactions.

More specifically, we will be looking at the process of entering transactions through the General Ledger in the form of Journal Entries.

“The purpose of a journal entry is to make a correction or adjustment in the system.”

What can I expect to see in the General Ledger Transactions video?

In this SAP Business One 15-Minute Fundamentals video, Richard basically takes us through the basic journal entry process and then through some of the different variations.

More specifically, you can expect to see:

  • How to navigate the Journal Entry screen
  • How to complete a basic Journal Entry
  • How to attach an Activity to a Journal Entry
  • How to create Journal Vouchers – these are the same as Journal Entries, but they don’t hit General Ledger until you post the voucher. In other words, it’s a 2-step Journal Entry.
  • How to find and use Posting Templates
  • How to find and use Recurring Postings

It’s important to note that if a period of time has been closed and locked, you won’t be able to make any postings against it.
